StitchFix vs. AI: Which Styled Me Better?
I tried StitchFix again recently.
I love the concept—having someone else pick your clothes…
Opening the box like a kid on Christmas morning.
I hadn’t used them in years.
Mainly because they started feeling a little… safe.
More “this works” than “this is what you asked for.”
But I was willing to give them another shot.
So I asked ChatGPT to help me write the note for what I wanted in my fix.
And then… the game changed.
“Or I could style you?”
…WHAT?!
I fed it:
screenshots from my Pinterest board
my measurements
exactly what I was looking for
And off it went.
It started pulling pieces from everywhere—
Ann Taylor, Nordstrom Rack, even Walmart.
Blouses. Structured. Feminine. Work-appropriate.
Things I would actually wear.
This. is. dangerous.
I loved everything it pulled…
but I still had my doubts.
And then the packages started coming in.
Pleated chiffon blouse (Dark Peacock – Coldwater Creek)
Navy pleat front top (Ann Taylor)
Blush pleat front top (Ann Taylor)
Patterned cowl neck (Ann Taylor)
(and one side-tie situation that went right back in the box)
This one fit.
And that one.
And another one…
And I was like—
Holy macaroni.
This is dangerous.
I sent back one thing.
One.
Out of like 12 (OK - 7).
Rest in peace, my paycheck.
I’m waiting with baited breath for this one to arrive:
Chiffon Cowl Neck Blouse (Walmart)
